I recently ordered some teas from Upton, including a bunch of samples of various Oolongs. I have posted some brief reviews here:

What do the rest of you think? I've been mostly disappointed by these Oolongs. Upton seems to be a bit more oriented towards Indian black teas and English-style brewing, and I'm thinking they may not be a great source for Oolong. Has that been your experience?

I have never ordered from Uptons and now I know not too. You see, this is why this forum rocks!
Don't always believe what you think!

I ordered from them twice because I like giving people and vendors the benefit of the doubt. I'm never ordering from them again.

Wow, so it's not just me. I thought they had a really good rep, too.
Thanks for confirming, everyone.
And since someone mentioned their Indian teas, I was disappointed by the tin of highly-rated though inexpensive Assam I ordered from them. Thought it was just me (I'm not really a black tea-o-phile) but maybe it really is as run-of-the-mill as I thought.
Oh well...too bad, as their service was good & the order came quickly. (He said as he eagerly anticipated the package from Jing Tea Shop ordered several weeks ago.)
thanks again

I got their 2008 Darjeeling Sampler and I'm very satisfied with it, it came Really fast too. They are orientated more towards the blacks so you should buy black tea from them. You may be able to get pizza at a Mexican restaurant but you might as well get it from the Italian restaurant across the street.

I have to say that I've been pretty happy with the black teas I've ordered from there (particularly the Borpatra Estate Assam, the Jing Mao Hou Select and the Puttabong 2nd Flush Darjeeling.) I also really liked their Jun Shan Yin Zhen. The service has been excellent and I thought these teas were great.
I tried a few greens that were good, but not the best I've had.
I mostly stick with black teas from Upton and I've been happy with them.

Then I should clarify; Just say no to oolongs from there.
They have nice tins and bags and fast shipping.
And Chip shared with me the tea made from Tea Flowers that they sell,
It is actually very nice.

non-oolong people are sooooo clueless.
I MEANT to write at the end of my post that I have not tried their oolongs but wanted to make clear that the company shouldn't be written off altogether. Sheesh.
