Ok.... a question for those of you who order from Adagio....
If I want an assam or a keemun from them -- which one's the best in your opinion?

don't believe the user/customer ratings eh?
Do something different, something different will happen. ( Gong Fu Garden )
I've only had one of each, the Keemun Encore (higher end) and the Assam Melody (lower end).
I absolutely love the Encore, a Hao Ya A. Has all the good things I'd expect from a Keemun, ie that rich complex biscuity aroma with that Burgandy character. I will probably order more when its back in stock.
I wasn't so impressed with the Assam Melody. It was very one-note, heavily malty and that's all. I used most of this as a base to some rosemary iced tea I made and it was delicious that way. Otherwise I would not drink it straight.
If you have to try just one kind of each, I'd suggest the Keemun Encore and the Assam Harmony. But why not get a sample of each?

I'm learning that there are as many varied opinions as there are tea-lovers... and there's no accounting for what individuals prefer. For that reason, I'm a big fan of samples.
That being said, I think the assam melody and harmony are both pretty good, but I enjoy the keemun concerto more than either assam. I haven't tried the keemun encore... will have to put that on my sample list.

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***
Very well said!kymidwife wrote:I'm learning that there are as many varied opinions as there are tea-lovers... and there's no accounting for what individuals prefer. For that reason, I'm a big fan of samples.
I prefer the Assam Melody over Harmony. However, after the rave reviews about the Keemun, I'll have to try it next time.
