[quote="Wesli"]A note should also be made to new chatters that they should try not to quote pictures. Quoting pictures makes pages take longer to load and gets rather annoying as one has to scroll past them and find what the person is trying to say.

Another thing to try to avoid is "Tunnel Quoting."

Thanks Wesli
I hear you.

This is what the quote markup looks like ... except that the text inside the square brackets [ ] should contain NO spaces (I had to add it so that you could see the markup text itself, rather than how it displays in the message):

[ quote = "username" ]The text you want to quote in your reply[ /quote ]

Remove the spaces inside the square brackets, and this is how it looks:

Thanks chamekke, but still thinking about this.
This is the perfect thread for you to practice on. Chamekke, your skills as a technical writer are blossoming all over the place in that post.

PS, Thank heavens for rodstnmn wife! I found the software a little intimidating at first too, but it really is pretty simple once you get a little practice. It's like learning to drive: you just have to sacrifice a few pedestrians to reach your goal.

Try as you might, sometimes it just happens ... like flattening those poor pedestrians.

And then there is intentionally misrepresenting the statements of fellow TeaChatters. That's always fun and can make you a lot of friends.

YOU JUST QOUTE THE LAST POST AND ADD TO IT, ALL THE NAMES ARE ADDED BY THE SYSTEM. YOU DON'T DO IT. JUST HIT THE QUOTE BUTTON FOR THIS POST AND ANSWER ME UNDERNEATH, AND YOU WILL SEE.

Here's another tip - If you want to quote several people in one post -

Right click the quote button of the first person you want to quote and open it in a new window, or a new tab.

Then the next person and so on, all in different windows.
So at this point you would have say 3 "post a reply" windows open.

Then just use the reply to open your new post and you then can copy and paste each of the other quotes into your new post, and reply to each underneath each one.
