Yixing Hong Cha
One day I was strolling some old-fashioned street in Beijing, I found one Yixing store and they offered me tea of their own. It had caramel-like color with taste like corn candy-sorry I can't express more than this.
Yixing Hong Cha is long-favored tea of people of Yixing yet not as famous as teapots they make.
Anyone else had that tea? And what's your opinion?

What a coincidence! Yesterday I went to a friend's tea house in GZ and drank some Yi Xing Black tea. It is great. The aftertaste lasts for a long time and the tea is quite mellow. It is a good black tea and can be infused many times.
Yi Xing black tea is always favored by Yi Xing tea pots makers. They would like to use Yi Xing Black tea to make their pots more glorious.

Hehe..now you've said that, I've posted it like months ago and the first reply!
Yixing Hong Cha is incredible, or they called it Yi Hong.
With Keemun being Qi Hong and Yunnan gold Quan Hong.
I should get that mellow smell to my nose again..

I like the ole "red tea". One of our local Chinese restaurants serves it. Well you have to order it but its great. I have not bought any but I should. I just have so much keemum that I have to drink first.

I had some at a teapot shop in Shanghai. The teapots were so-so and way overpriced, but the tea was quite good, and I've been kicking myself ever since for not trying to find any while I was over there. Does anyone know of a reliable source for this?

I received a free sample from the user "ChinesePottery." Maybe he could guide you in the right direction. I had this tea last year from a Chinese friend of mine and it left me very impressed. I think it is a very underrated red tea, and I like it better than the popular Keemun.

With the growing popularity of red (black) tea in China, this tea seems much easier to find now... lots of online sources compared to when I last posted about it.
