I am pretty fanatical.
I didn't chose the first option because I haven't got any teafridge.
I have only many plastic boxes in my fridge to store my unopened japanese greens.
I also store my opened tea packages in the coolest room of my apartment.
I only keep rooibos and black tea in my kitchen.
This morning Yunnan golden tips and houjicha with my lunch in a few minutes.

I am not fanatical about storing my tea. I just like them to be organized by type and sealed well.
This morning, I had some of my neglected White Tip Oolong. I'm still not sure I like this tea--it is darker than I usually prefer. And, I didn't seem to get any flavors out of it although I brewed it just off boiling for 5 minutes. Hmm.

It's nice looking, has an interesting fit in the hand, and holds an easy 8 oz, but when it is first filled with hot tea -- even 160° coolish sencha -- it's waaaay too hot to hold. I got it because Victoria was bragging on the one that she picked up a few weeks ago. Envy is a terrible affliction.

I'm diligent but not fanatical. My black teas are all stored in one cabinet in the kitchen, along with the pots. They don't last long enough to get stale.
PGTips in the mug. Husband did the morning tea, and it's strong!

For me, the hardest part of storing tea is during tea swaps with friends. What to do with all the zip lock baggies and tiny tins so they don't get too close to other stuff and abosorb their flavors or vice versa? My regular teas usually come in tins or thick sealed bags, so I don't worry about them too much. Stick them in the cabinet and hope for the best...

They are tightly sealed in the packages they came in and arranged in little baskets on the shelves in order of black, green, white, oolong, pu-erh. Sort of, just had a look, about 40 different kinds. Oh, and then there's the cupboard under where I prepare them and Oh,oh about 5 different kinds on the counter where I prepare them, in cookie jar type containers. I am going to stop counting now.
My wife just sat down beside me and I made her eyes go like this:
