Water...today's TeaPoll topic and discussion topic. How fanatical are you about your tea water? Or maybe you don't give it a thought...turn on the faucet and brew? Please share how you deal with water used in brewing tea.

I don't consider myself a fanatic about water. I prefer to think of it as knowing exactly what I want and precisely how to get it.

As much as bad water disgusts me, I'm probably relaxed about it compared to some. I generally use in-fridge filtered water for my tea. I have noticed that a few brands of bottled water make some of the worst-tasting tea I've ever had, although not as bad as the tap water at my old job.

Jealous somewhat!I get my tea water from a spring that is located near the top of a mountain with nothing above it but forest.
I use Brita filtered tap water and also make ice from the same water for cold brewing. The tapwater in my area of the UK is far too hard for sencha brewing.
No tea as of yet today but will probably have some more Uji Gyokuro Kame Giru-shi later. I've been enjoying it quite a bit this week as I bought it to celebrate getting married last Saturday (one reason why I haven't posted much this week!)
My wife isn't a tea drinker, oh well more for me I guess!
We have a water well in the yard for all of our water, lovely cold mineral-rich stuff. No fluorine or chlorine. We get it tested every so often to be sure there aren't unpleasant contaminents.
So...tap/well water for me.
Found a can of Taylors of Harrowgate Irish breakfast in the cabinet this morning. It's strong, but this stuff is just fannings. Dust. Bleh.

Tap water. Pacific NW has really good water. I can run tap through my Zoji for two weeks, and when I clean the pot there is still virtually no residue.
More shincha this morning. The flowers were picked out of the middle of the blackberry bushes near the creek behind our house. No idea what they are. The branches are hemlock I believe.
