Thursday TeaDay 7/17/08 Tea volume consumption?

by Chip » Jul 17th, '08, 03:04

Yesterday, many more TeaChatters voted for les than 5 sodas this 2008. But the second highest vote getter was more than 200 sodas this year! Very interesting. You can still vote and discuss this topic.

Welcome everyong to TeaDay, let's brew and share what is in our cups today, all day, shall we?

Today's TeaPoll an discussion topic...do you drink more of any other liquid than tea on an average day? If so, what. Anything come close?

I am most assuredly looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone! Bottoms up, refill, repeat...

The wonderful thing about a forum like this is the opportunity to steal things from people when they aren’t looking. In today’s photo I have stolen
  • the glass from Geekgirl
the toothpick holder from Henley (ha! You thought it was still in that cabinet … well look again)
    the concept from Tenuki
the yunomi and the chataku from Geekgirl

I am flying away from Gainesville tomorrow for a week. M. Olivierco, a French foreign national, rumored to be of Japanese infusion and part of the TeaWorld underground has graciously consented to received and transmit posts from my European editor/alter ego as I may be incommunicado and out-of-communicado in ways that we can as yet only imagine. Be assured that I have complete confidence in M. Olivierco and in my Editor/alter ego to conduct my affairs in my absence with the same prudence and candor as I myself might have exercised (actually not a very high standard). Please except their actions and representations as respresentative of my own.

I drink more tea than any other liquid.
Besides tea, I drink milk and water. If I add milk and water quantities, it is a little more than my tea drinking.

This morning Keemun.

It drives my family crazy, but I hardly drink anything during the day. Tea is the main thing I drink- most days it's the only thing I drink. And on a good day, it averages out to about five 8 oz. cups.

I've tried and tried to up my consumption of liquids for health reasons, but I just never think about it until actual 'thirst' sets in...case in point, the last sip of water or tea that I had was with dinner around 4pm yesterday- and it's now 13 hours later.

I better go brew some tea. Maybe some Ceylon this morning at work.

I voted no. I sip on tea almost all day long.
In my cup this morning, a Keemun Red Lung Ching.

I probably drink more water than I do tea. Tea is a strong second place (and I'm counting iced and hot tea, black, oolong, and green). I drink milk and juice as well.

Organic Yunnan "golden breakfast" in the mug this morning. Not bad.

Morning, folks! Water and soy 'milk' are probably equal to tea for me. 'Cept on certain days when I've had waaay to much tea.

Yunnan Gold as usual to start the day.

I drink between 96 and 120 ounces of water a day and only about 30 or so ounces of tea a day.

Right now I'm drinking Mark T. Wendell Scottish Breakfast tea. Deee-lish. :)

Okay, Sal, not only did you steal my toothpick holder, you stole my flowers! Actually, I don't have any yellow lilies. Will have to remedy that situation this fall! That's really pretty. Hope you have a great trip.

I drink tea &/or juice every morning w/bfast. Rest of my meals I drink water or sometimes iced tea. On a really good day (like yesterday), I can squeeze in tea w/lunch.

In my cup this morning was Organic Monk's Blend.

I drink more water than tea. Usually I get about 35 to 50 oz of tea, depending on the day, and about 50 to 90 oz of water.

Wedding cake tea this morning. And what a crappy morning it has been. Got to work an hour late. Ashes missed the litter box - and she's been drinking A LOT. So had to do bathroom clean up this morning. Then she wouldn't eat so I spent a good bit of time tempting her and finally got her to eat some gravy. Also, I feel asleep last night with my hair wet so yeah, had to spend time fixing that. Then I spilled about half of my tea leaves all over the kitchen floor so had to clean that up. And then on the way to work, the gas light came on. All in all, I was a hour late to work. I'm looking forward to going home!
