Re: Xi-Zhi Hao pu erh tea.
I also would like to hear from some fans of Xi-Zhi Hao.heavydoom wrote: ...are these cakes really worth their steep prices?
I have had samples of
- 2007 Autumn "Da Xue Shan" MAO CHA
2006 "Yi Wu Cha Hwang"
2006 Lao BanZhan Tai-Chi Series - "Yin"
2006 Lao BanZhan Tai-Chi Series - "Yan"
2006 BanZhan Natural Habitat (Spring harvest)
2005 (Spr) Lao Ban Zhan, San Ho Tang "Double Happiness"
I understand from Hop that Xi-Zhi Hao is a pseudo-factory, they hire out the actual manufacturer to real factories like Guoyan and San Ho Tong (? if that is a factory).

I like Xi-Zhi Hao pu, but unfortunately, their lastest stuff really was some what dissapointing. However, their more expensive stuff was decent or better I should say.Salsero wrote:I also would like to hear from some fans of Xi-Zhi Hao.heavydoom wrote: ...are these cakes really worth their steep prices?
I have had samples ofI found them all OK, quite light in flavor, but nothing exceptionally compelling. Yet I know that bloggers and others have really loved these products. So, I guess i would like to know more about the company as well as more about what I am missing in the brew.

You are correct sal. Xi-Zhi Hao had contracted Guoyan to do its processing which I don't really believe it deters it from being great products. If memory serves me correctly, So Tang I believe is the company name not the factory. Although this could of changed.
Don't always believe what you think!
