Thursday TeaDay 9/04/08 Crave Factor for Greens?

by Chip » Sep 4th, '08, 00:31

Welcome everyone to another TeaDay. I hope we can share what is in our cups today, all day. Let's brew.

Yesterday again offered very diverse results. However 62% of responders indicated they craved oolongs on some level. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic again visits the CRAVE FACTOR for teas. Today, it is greens turn. On what level if any do you crave greens? Please share your personal crave factor.

I am craving another day sharing TeaDay with everyone! Bottoms up.

4. I like them, maybe, but not craving them.

I am definitely getting more and more adventurous
and trying more and more of them all the time.

In fact I just tried a steamed green from Hawaii that I liked even better than an oolong that was offered.

Hey Victoria! Welcome back! Don't be drinking too much of that green stuff or you'll lose your Oolong Queen title! har har har

I voted 10, no big surprise...

Keemun with my breakfast.

By the way, I have just ordered the new sencha and the new gyokuro from Ocha.

Tencha

by Salsero » Sep 4th, '08, 01:35

Thanks, Pentox, for this sample of Tencha, the raw material of matcha (the tea, not the bird).

#4 for me. I'll drink them occasionally but am happy with just a couple different greens- Adagio's Kukicha and a generic Chinese green when I want something a bit sweet.

This morning has been coffee for me. I made a huge mistake Labor Day weekend when the wife and family were off of work/school and we took a road trip that ended with a coffee shop visit. The aromas were too much to take, and I wound up bringing home a couple pounds of Espresso... Now I think I'm hooked again.

Hmmm, any guess what my vote was for? Clearly and obviously #10. Plus almost every night I am thinking about the green tea of the next day.

Option 6 for me. I frequently crave green tea, and right now I'm enjoying some sencha in honor of today's poll.

The Greens are so different from teas I have been used to in the past, I am getting a bit obsessed with them.

( but I'm just beginner, so I'm not going higher than a 7 . . . yet !

10, no doubt. Mostly Japanese greens though, don't drink that much Chinese green tea.

Starting with Shincha Kirameki today :D

Green tea, esp. Sencha, is a 9 for me. I will think about the taste and have a thirst specifically for it. Only Pu Ehr has a stronger pull.
