Try the samples from Uptons. That'll give you a good idea as to which ones are more along the lines of a Keemun (light smoke) and the heavier ones.

My actual favorite comes from an E-bay seller called PA Dutch Spices or something like that.

The Imperial Lapsang is the one I tried, and I love it. It's a light smoke, definitely more complex, but also not a true deep and dark Lapsang. The Seven Cups Denver owner seems to like the LS Bohea too. But there regular LS is very good too. In fact, you cannot go wrong.

Upton sells a very nice Formosa LS. It's my favorite of that type that I've had so far.

I was quite taken by the dearer lapsang at teaspring but it's been a while. I've got to get through 150g of the stuff I bought in a fancy department store before I can justify buying more, not bad enough to throw away but just not good enough to make me smile.

I'm working my way through an ounce of lapsang souchong I picked up at a local shop.

It is definately different. I don't have the specific tea name/description at this time, I need to get that information next time I'm in the shop.

The OAK smoke essense is definately evident as advertised. The tea is very nice and once I backed off on the steep time it got very nice. The smoke rolls up into the nose and lingers.

I'll probably try this tea again though I have to warn everyone in the office when I brew it up...we are surrounded by oak trees and I don't want anyone to think we've got a fire going. :D
