hello guys!
im new in this forum...
ive been reading about pu and im quite concerned about humidity levels in where i live....
i live in the philippines and we have only 2 seasons here... sunny and rainy...
ive only been monitoring humidity levels for the past 2 months and so far, it ranges from 65-90... but 90 is very very rare... the normal level would be 75-85%. 90% only happened once i think... which was the last day of many consecutive days of raining...
naturally, reading about pu and storing conditions... im very concerned...
ive read in a different thread that storing pu in a porcelain jar is good... specifically for shou pu, which i collect... can anyone comment?... i am hoping that by puting them into a big porcelain jar, it would answer my high humidity level problems...
thanks for your inputs in advanced!

I'd be very careful putting them in jars. If your tea is already quite damp, putting them in jars can cause mould to grow.

How to lower humidity levels?
You can store in cardboard boxes. If left in high humidity for a long period, carboard will equilibrate and no longer lower humidity levels. But you say that 90%RH is only occasional, so cardboard should do the trick.

thanks for your replies,
if i store them in cardboard boxes.... i still have to open the box occasionally for fresh air right? say maybe 1-2 times a week?

There's no need for that.... you can leave them in the boxes for quite a while. Opening them once a month is probably enough. You are not sealing the boxes anyway -- air will flow through.

Just be happy that you have high humidity levels. Most of us hear in the US have to deal with 50% all year round. I recommend getting a dehumidifier.
