Female and black. I like the oolongs I've tried, but haven't experimented enough with non-black teas to change my preference. Also, I love a good iced fruity black tea.

At the moment, though, I'm drinking an iced Formosa oolong just for something different (and to use up the tea before it goes stale). I'm thinking about having a mug of something hot after I cool off a bit, though. (Been cleaning. Joy.)

Female and green

I'm surprised to say that Pu-erh has actually jumped ahead of my favorite black teas now.

I've always suspected it was only a clever disguise!

The first half of the question is easy (at least for me) ... but the second half is a bit problematic. I know the answer is either black, oolong, green, or puerh, but it seems that my fav is whatever is in front of me. In this case, that would be sheng puerh, if for no other reason because of the beautiful spent leaves.

Spent leaves may be seen HERE, dry leaf chunk may be seen better by clicking on the image below.

 that woke me up! hehe

...female and Japanese greens. I'm learning to appreciate oolongs now too but greens are still my top.

Morning all!

Female and green here, though depending on my mood, oolong could have been the answer. I spent some lovely time with some Japanese greens last night so that may have influenced my voting.

This is an interesting poll, because I remember a tea vendor I talked to in Taiwan talked about this. She was having me sample TGY and Da Hong Pao, and she told me that females usually prefer TGY (non-roasted) while males prefer Da Hong Pao. I asked her why, and she said it was because TGY is floral and delicate, while Da Hong Pao is fruity and bold flavored. I think this is interesting, because it could mean that females would prefer green teas, while males would prefer oolongs or black. Of course, this poll relies on equal number of male or female tea drinkers

Drinking some Bai Mu Dan I picked up from Fujian

I'm most surprised by the amount of males vs females who have responded so far. Three times as many men on this forum than women? Who'd have thought?

Three times as many men have voted earlier in the day, perhaps. I know there are more female TeaChatters than that.

And of course, all polls are skewed in that they represent the views of people who like to take part in polls

I think that for a hobby like tea-drinking, the gender demographics is probably up in the air. It's not as slanted as say ... video games, where it's usually guys sitting around on the computer. But do more men use the internet? That might have something to do with it

Female and Black, but I like some Oolongs also.

This morning, Adagio Darjeeling #22 at breakfast.

Now a combo of Ceylon Sonata/Assam Melody and Yogic Chai Coconut Masala Chai, iced. (I wanted to spice up my usual iced mixture and the chai added a spiciness to it.)

I've actually heard that the statistics for video games are far more even than the public impression. Women play video games a plenty (just as they drink beer and drive fast cars), but they just aren't addressed in advertising and marketing.

Had Adagio Darjeeling to start the day. Currently wrapping up a session of Chiran Yutaka Midori from Lupicia, this sample is all but gone.

I'm definitely a green guy if I had to choose just one.

Just poured a cup of organic keemun.
I had some Ippodo kaboku this morning. Finally after three attempts I got a good cup out of it. What a fussy tea!

Cheers everyone! :D
