08 Xi Zhi Hao offerings?

Postby thanks » Oct 28th, '08, 09:10

When are the 08 Xi Zhi Hao productions going to be released? Have they already been released, and no one in the west has made them available yet, or what? I can't wait to see how much I can't afford an 08 tea that I still want anyway. So far Hai Lang Hao is winning 08 at 56$.

Hey, thats funny you posted this, I was gonna ask some questions about this brand. What do you guys think of the Xi Shi factory stuff. What can people tell me about it. I know that bill wrote up a the double happiness brick, but I had never even heard of the factory until then. What kind of leaf are they using, where are they based out of?

Thanks

I'm sure people can add much more information to this than I can, but a Taiwanese gentleman runs Xi Zi Hao out of a passion for great pu'er. They do different productions of different mountains, just like a normal pu'er producer. Their older Mengsa and Banzhang productions are most famous, in particular. Basically a high end producer of pu'er. Some people think Xi Zi Hao offerings started to lose some quality in the past year or two because of their large increase and broad range of productions per year, yet the price of their product keeps going up. Hou De has the best selection of Xi Zi Hao products available in the west as far as I know, and that section of their website can be reached here, http://www.houdeasianart.com/index.php? ... 39d1fc576b

I should also list all of their known official productions. Just a slight warning, this list is slightly old and compiled by Guang of Hou De.

Here you go. If you look at the samples that hou de has for Xi Zhi , which ones would you buy?

Had it not sold out I would have recommended a sample of the 2005 Banzhan beeng, but instead the 2007 Yi Wu Cha Hwang is very good; http://www.houdeasianart.com/index.php? ... 0e0caac163

Also try the Da Xue Shan maocha when you get the chance; http://www.houdeasianart.com/index.php? ... 0e0caac163
