Wanted: Mrs. Tea teamaker

by teachat » Jun 8th, '05, 15:10

Does anyone know where or how you can get a Mrs. Tea tea-maker? She's the spouse of the infamous Mr. Coffee!

I hate to hear that Mrs. Tea is gone. I have one and love it. I just recommended it to a friend and she couldn't find it. I have never had a problem with it. It makes a great cup of tea.

I also have a Mrs. Tea which I use every day and have for many years. My neice saw it and wants one. She has also looked everywhere for one. Why have they stopped making them?

I just did a search on eBay for "Mrs Tea" and there are several there to bid on. Good luck!

I have had Mrs. tea for years(10?) and have beaten the life out of it daily. I really want a replacement! I will try ebay, though I did not see one 6 months ago!
Come on, Mr. Coffee! The benefits of tea surpass those of coffee!

There are plenty of Mrs. Teas being auctioned.
Type: E-Bay for Mrs. Tea.
When it says SEARCH, type: Mrs. Tea.

I have one of these, but don't know how to use it. Do you just pour boiling water into the top? If so, how different is that from making tea in a regular teapot? If it's automatic, how? I am thinking of putting it in my church's white elephant sale, but would like to be able to tell people how it works. Any explanations?

Hi :D

I used to have one of these. You pour a teapot's worth of water into the top. Take the basket and put a filter in with some tea. Select the strength you want. Put the teapot on the warmer and turn on. The machine heats the water and steeps the tea which drips into the teapot. It does an ok job.

I gave mine to my mother-in-law for her office. I've become a traditionalist :D

Best wishes,
Stephenie

Thank you to Stephanie Sasse. I tried it. It's o.k., but I'm still going to put it into the White Elephant sale. Like you, I am a traditionalist. Taught by my English husband how to do it right!

FWIW, my wife has been using a Mrs Tea for about 8 years and adores it. It brews W O N D E R F U L tea and controls brewing temp/time very well. We use it with loose tea and natural brown filters for it cost about nothing. The porcelan teapot (original style) is very nice and of good quality. It has held up very well under daily use. Highly recommended. If anyone has one they are not using please contact me; if ours ever dies I am in trouble ... Thank you.
