Why hello there.

by TheBogo » Nov 28th, '08, 17:13

I've been lurking around this place for a little bit. I've loved tea since I was little, always getting it whenever I went out to eat with the family. I never really got it outside of that, though. I recently started drinking some decent tea, but they were all bagged and herbal-esque. Now that the few boxes I bought of those ran out, I want to move onto the real deal. I've been browsing Adagio for a while and I think I found all the stuff that I need to get a good idea of what is going on. So there we go, that's my introduction post, haha.

Now I am just about ready to actually make my order. If you guys could possibly go over what I have planned, that would be fantastic. I'll probably order on Sunday.

So I was thinking that I need something to actually start out with the whole brewing dealio. What better to start out with than the IngenuiTea? And what's better than getting an IngenuiTea, a book, and 4 samples? Not much, that's what. So here we go, I'm leaning towards the green sampler:

Now that we have the first few samples under way, I was reading that the sampler pack that comes with the IngenuiTea does not really cover the best way to start off with green tea, so I was going to pick up a sample of the Sencha Overture:

So with a good green tea first experience down, on to some other stuff. I was looking at the White Cucumber sample. It looks rather intriguing and the reviews seemed really good:

Here is where it got tricky for me, do I throw down the four dollars for some oolong tea now? I was leaning towards the Oolong #18 tea, the reviews seemed to label it as the choice for a first time oolong tea:

Well there we go. Looking back at the post, it seems like its more of a "help me with my first order" rather than an introduction, haha. So sorry about that. Well I look forward to the whole tea experience and getting out of the bag world, even if I was only in it for a month or two :P .

Thanks all! I'll be sure to switch up my shopping cart. This will work out well, I am guessing that I'll be getting a sample of the Pu Erh for an order over 25 dollars, as well.

Thanks! I just placed my order. Surprise surprise, looks like I got a free sample with the Zodiac thing. Looking forward to giving that one a shot. Regarding the free sample of the Pur Erh, do I have to do anything special or just wait for it to come? If not, no big deal, the Zodiac one will surely cover my looking forward to try at least one of each kind!

I ended up going for the Oolong #18 and added a a sample of the White Peony for good measure. What's two dollars for a few cups of tea, anyway? I'm looking forward to giving the whole loose leaf experience a shot, thanks for the help.

Edit: Wow. After signing up for an account and checking out all the new stuff through the My Account dealio, I am loving this place more and more.

Yeah and the points aren't bad either. You will like the White Peony, I'm sure.

Glad you are with us!
