Hello everyone!

Hi there! I'm pretty new to tea, it's been maybe a month now. I started with a box of Stash Earl Grey teabags that I bought on a whim at the grocery store but, oooh, it was so good. I definitely wanted to do things right so I ordered the black tea starter set here at Adagio with the IngenuiTea. I've been enjoying a couple cups every day now and I've got some more Adagio samples that will be delivered today, can't wait to try them and figure out where my tastes are. Yesterday, I received (from Den's Tea) my kokoro/genmaicha gift set along with their other green tea samples. What I learned from that is that I definitely don't like green tea, oh well. I'm having fun trying all the different types and I've been lurking here trying to learn as much as possible about teaware/preparation techniques, stuff like that.
On a personal level, I'm 33, married, work in IT (lowly operator). I like a lot of music, anything but country. Love my tech/gadgets, I guess you could say my man-crush on Kevin Rose has led me to the world of tea. I live about 90 minutes SW of Chicago. Big fan of English Premier League football/soccer (Go Chelsea!), have sworn off American sports for almost three years now. I'm also a big fan of auto racing, mostly F1 and LeMans.
Looking forward to discussing tea with you all
-Trent

Hi Trent,
Welcome! I am new here also. I have ordered a couple of starter kits too and am looking forward to trying them. I am open to all suggestions, so please let me know which ones you are enjoying.

Welcome Trent to TeaChat. Maybe back off on the time or temp of the greens. And don't judge greens harshly based upon a first impression of genmaicha, which is not exactly green tea straight up.

Please visit us on TeaDay and share what is in your cup.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
