I feel that I should know, but I don't :( .

I am familiar with some blends called Russian, because for a while I was searching for a black tea blend resembling Russian Railroad tea (as it was called in the old country) and bought a number of them. I never heard of this one. I Googled it, it is not very common and comes in tea bags, but you probably know this already. Since it is bags, I probably won't buy it myself.

Have you tried it?

Someone gave me a bag of it a long time ago but I don't remember anything about it, which maybe telling, but I found a box of it last night while shopping for the 3-Crown peppermint.

I'll just take the plunge and pick some up next week, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Beecrofter was telling me about a place in Connecticut that is a nursery with formal gardens and teashop... included in their inventory are teas by a Parisian tea company called Kousmichoff which seems to specialize in Russian teas. One of their teas is called Troika - I don't know if this could be related to what you are asking for.

Quite an old post but this tea in bags and really leftover crumbles in the most un-inspiring package and a VERY low price is pretty good. I have a hard time finding it as a few stores discontinued it. Best the way I grew up: sugar and lemon. It is a nice colour and 1 bag makes a whole can nicely.
