New sheng at Puerh Shop

by tony shlongini » Dec 17th, '08, 17:31

I see Jim has added some new items. Blue label, green label, red label, 1st class, 2nd class......

Jim, a little more description, please!

Are they different, or should we flip a coin?

Don't quote me, but after a little research they seem to be the same, although historically the different chops or colors meant different blends I thought.

Some tea porn here; http://www.puerh.hu/index.php?pageid=na ... cart&id=32

Appears to be pretty quality leaf, and I've seen tons of advertisement pictures of this set for a year or two now.

Oddly enough the pageid for that link is "nannuo", but in the description it notes Yiwu.

Hard to find info on this one

by Jim Liu » Dec 18th, '08, 00:12

I have been searching all over the places, trying to get more information on this product.

From what I read, it's very confusing. Someone says it's made by using Wuliang arbor materials, storaged for one year before putting up for sale by CNNP, yet another swears it's Menghai stuff.

If you just want to see some tea porn, here is a link http://www.puertea8.com/html/382.html

It does look like not all cakes are made the same. Because of its limited quantity (four sets available only), I have not even tried it myself.

They appear very tightly compressed, as one would expect from a tiebing.

Keep 'em coming, Jim!

Ah! Excellent post Jim! This helps clear up some of the confusion. They all appear to be made of different materials.

Jim do you think maybe this is CNNP's version of the Menghai Peacock series?

i.e. CNNP decided to make a different cake to represent a few different famous mountains?

I think these two are totally different. Menghai Peacock series is better.

CNNP got a bad reputation in 2007. If you are willing to pay, you would get a CNNP logo placed on the wrapper of your own cake! So I stay away from CNNP offerings in 2007 altogether.

In 2008, CNNP, with loaded money earned in 2007, started to behave, for one thing, most CNNP products are now made in Kunming tea factory with better quality control. But I have not seen they come up with a famous mountain series.

Now it's 2009 almost, let's watch what happens.

Jim....

Let me use this thead to say a couple of things about the puerhshop site. There are a couple of new pichers that I am interested in but the capacity is not listed. Also many of the yixing teapots do not show the metric measurements. Most tea lovers are forced to convert to this....which I like.....but it would be nice to have both listed so I dont have to convert it. And some of your new photos are just too dark to get a good idea of what you are getting....be it tea or teapot.

I point these things out because you are either going to lose or are losing customers because of it. I have passed by things for this reason. Yes I could ask for these things but as the customer I don't think I should have to. I have sold a lot of stuff on ebay......I have a website........I know it can be a pain in the ass to run through and edit all the photos and include all the info. However you are limiting your sucess if you don't. I want you to be sucessful because it benefits me to have a good resource in the US.

Thanks for your ear.

Brian

Appreciated all your suggestions.

I planned to do a face lift during this Christmas holiday when nobody comes to our website.

The photos are shady, in addition to other stuff, I know, I know ...
