spent leaves of any tea...

i heard that if you mix the leaves up in the earth of your indoor flower plants, that this is good for the plant. true or false?

All the spent leaves at my shop go into a special bucket for the plants. There are delighted roses all over town thanks to our efforts.

My bonsai didn't particularly like it. But it might have not been long for the world anyway.

My guess is only acidic loving plants? Not all plants?
I dunno.

I've been drying mine and saving them in plastic bags for a while, eventually I'm hoping to make one of those tea pillows.

Is one type of tea leaf better for plants than another? say green tea versus oolong?

I throw mine on the garden to compost the old fashioned way.

Mine go into my garden beds or into my large pots where I grow herbs. I grew some killer veggies and herbs this past summer, and I think the nutrients in the tea leaves was a significant part of that. Also, if you have anything growing in pots, the layer of tea leaves over the top of the soil not only adds nutrients, but helps reduce moisture loss from evaporation.

And sometimes when I am lazy, I put them in the garbage disposal.
