Barley tea?

Postby wicked13phantom » Jan 4th, '09, 20:53

I think that is what it is called
I am not actually sure but we drink it at my house
I love it with milk and sugar
if you drink it plain then it tastes horrible but is naturally caffeine free
i think they should add this to their website

I think mugi is made from barley. I had it served cold at a restaurant in Japan, it was pretty good but not high quality or anything, kind of an equivalent of "Chinese restaurant tea".

Actually like everything else, it's a matter of taste... I love mugicha but I definitely prefer it unsweetened with no additives at all. I find it naturally sweet and roasty and delicious.

If you search the forums, you'll find information on how to roast your own barley to make home-made mugicha if that's of any interest to you.

+1!

I would not go out of my way to buy barley tea when it is so easy and cheap to roast on your own. And did I mention fun. Oh, and reallllly gooood :!:

Great in the evening, hot or cold, since it is caffeine free.
