Greetings, campers --
What's your brewing vessel size of choice for a typical one drinker session?
And while we're at it ... do you prefer a Gaiwan? Yixing? Mug? Soup tin?
(Perhaps that'll be a separate poll.)
Cheers,
- Richard
As of right now I have 2 yixing pots and a basic gaiwan.
My sheng pot measures around 140ml filled with just water. The other pot I use mainly for the greener rolled oolongs I don't have a measurement for, I'll have to check that one as I got it from the oolong box pass. Its a bit more though, probably arond 150-170 range.
As for my gaiwan, its a 120ml basic gaiwan. I'm actually looking for one thats about the same size but just better quality, perhaps a bit heavier, thicker walled, nicer...

Most of my oolong and pu-erh brewing (I hesitate to call it gongfu), happens in a 140mL gaiwan. I have an yixing pot that I sometimes use for darker oolongs. It's a little bigger than the gaiwan, but not by much. While I definitely appreciate the aesthetic qualities of yixing ware, I find brewing in a gaiwan to be more enjoyable, perhaps because of being able to see the leaves better. Also, gaiwans are cheap and I won't cry if I break one.

Well for pu-erh I use 150ml Yixing which I found is the recommended size for puerh. For Gaiwan, of which I rarely use for puerh, I use 130ml.
Don't always believe what you think!
