I was looking through the forums a bit and noticed that each person had their own personal method of re-steeping delicate white teas such as Silver Needle! But I was wondering as far as most white teas are concerned, is there a generally accepted way to re-steep white teas if you're experimenting as far as temperature/steep-time is concerned?
And my other question is regarding different blends with fuller leaf buds! When you're measuring out the tea do you really pack it down or loosely measure it off at the teaspoon?

As far as measuring, a lot of us weigh it. More consistent that way.
Hm as far as a general resteepting method goes, successive infusions should be equal to or higher temp than the previous and time should also be equal to or greater. Most likely greater.
As you try you learn to tailor it to your tastes and to the specific tea. It becomes an instinct to do.

Definitely fluffly leaves will require more.
No, don't mash or break the leaves, just adjust up for more.
How much? ... you will have to experiment. Maybe about 3 times
as much to start.
The time would depend on how you are brewing.
If you are brewing in a pot, I usually go 3mins then 5 mins
for the second steep.

It is very simple, pour in a tall glass cup a bit of near boiling water, swirl it and discard it, put in the Yin Zhen leaves, smell, pour it up with 80 C water, wait for the leaves to sink, smell and after 2-3 minutes start drinking and enjoying, when the water left is barely enough to coveer the leaves, generally 1/3 or 1/4 th, the voulme of the cup, pour slightly hotter water 85 C, and wait another 3-4 minutes, do these steps until you can chew the leaves and realize that only celulose is left in them.
