Offer: Japanese Teaware Recession Blowout!

by Abracadaver! » Feb 22nd, '09, 15:33

Hi everybody. I'm doing a little preemptive Spring cleaning, and I've decided that it's time to clear out some of the teaware that I haven't used and don't have a sentimental attachment to. As you can see, I've been a bit teaware-happy over the last couple of years and figure it's time to scale back to the essentials. Everything is 100% new and unused (except for one yunomi that I've noted). Everything is priced at what I originally paid (not including what I paid for shipping at the time). Just to make things easy, shipping is $8 per item (I'll eat any extra expense) and everything will ship with insurance.

I'm open to any trade offers (comparable teaware or some nice greens or oolongs), but since I'm scaling back, I most likely would prefer to sell these. PayPal only, as it protects the both of us. Thanks for looking!

1: Hagi Tsustsu Chawan/Large Yunomi by Shibuya Deishi: SOLD
Includes signed box and stamped cloth.

2: Hagi Tsutsu Chawan/Large Yunomi by Shibuya Deishi: SOLD
I ended up with two of these. This one is virtually identical to the other in size and shape, but as you can see in the pictures, is packaged in a different style of signed box and does not come with a cloth.

3: Oguro Chawan by Suzuki Shoraku: SOLD
This is a reproduction of the Oguro Chawan, on of Sen Ruikyu's seven famous bowls. Includes a signed box and information sheet. Note: the middle-left photo shows the scalloped pattern on the inside bottom of the bowl.

4: Mogake Yuzamashi by Hokujo: SOLD
I have another yuzamashi, so off this one goes...

5: Tokoname Cha Kouro: $30
This is used with a tealight candle for "burning" tea leaves as incense. More info here: http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... t=chakouro

6: Bizen-style Yunomi: $30 or trade
This is a yunomi by a New York-based Japanese potter whose name I forget (sorry!). I have used this one a couple of times.
Image

7: Muji Cha Kouro/Incense Burner: $12 or trade
This was a gift. The weird shiny stuff along the top is a piece of tape holding the dish to the burner.

BONUS!: Here are a few things that I'm getting rid of as well. If interested, let me know and I'll throw them in with the teaware.
-Toasted Rice (Genmai) from Seven Cups
-Tea Strainer and stand GONE
-8 sticks premium Vietnamese Aloeswood incense

Thanks for bearing with me through such a long post! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!

Sure thing. The top one (#1) is 10cm/3.93 inches high by 9.3cm/3.66 inches wide. #2 is roughly the same, give or take a tenth of an inch.

PM me if 1 and 2 are available :?:
“Take some more tea,” the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
“I’ve had nothing yet,” Alice replied in an offended tone: “so I ca’n’t take more.”
“You mean you ca’n’t take less,” said the Hatter: “it’s very easy to take more than nothing.”

The black chawan is gone! Thanks tjkoko!

So--there are only a couple of things left, and I'd love to get rid of them. I may also be adding an item or two in the next couple of days.
Also, I'm in the market for interesting (and not so interesting) chataku, so if you have any that you might consider putting up for trade, let me know!
