it seems that this cup is very intriguing, as , on the one hand some date it around 1920s-40s, other, based, mainly on the handle and the gold rim, date it to 19th, and other(few)to the 18th.

True, Japan did do a lot of transferware export as well, as did all of Asia. I believe it is Chinese because of the crudeness of the cup and because I have seen almost identical cups here.

Interesting IPT. Do you have any example to show me?

I do not have identical ones, I have seen them, but I usually pass them up because they are so crude. I have a few that I have picked up in bundles with other cups. I will try to post photos this weekend.

Here is an 18th c chinese export tea cup (bowl). Tea cups did not have handles when they were first introduced from China.

These are late 19th c hand painted export tea cups, with handles. Note how they are wildly different in terms of the actual paitning, but the same in terms of design.

This is a Chinese export coffee cup, of the same period of the two tea cups. Tea cups are shallower, and more bowl shapped than coffee cups.

This is a transferware jar. Note how the transfer is not aligned and overlapping.

Here is the front of the jar. When properly applied, the transfer is not noticlable.

However, if you look closely, the cup I posted is not exactly the same style.
