i'm (finally) about to purchase some first flushes, and i've been confused by some of the letter and number abbreviations on darjeelings. i know what the sftgfop stuff stnads for, but what about "DJ-1" (or any other number)? what about the "AV2" signification?
as an example:
Darjeeling Phuguri DJ14 "AV2"
i get the darjeeling phuguri part, but can anybody translate the rest?
any help is much appreciated!
I opened my fourth and last, I guess, first flush 2008 Darjeeling:
Puttabong DJ 32 S.F.T.G.F.O.P.1
A clear and pleasant astringency, just as I like it for a Darjeeling. Floral and vegetal taste less present than in Phuguri or Risheehat. Perhaps better than last year Puttabong, but it is difficult to tell after one year. Anyway a very good Darjeeling, and not the most expensive one.
