speaking of changes... my old sample (ordered 10/19/05) of earl grey tastes DRASTICALLY different than the new sample i just ordered (7/16/05). Did you guys change the formula? The old (and very beautiful) blue flower things are gone and replaced with who knows what it is. The taste is less... bergamonty with more smokiness. In all honesty, im dissapointed. Your old earl grey was one of my favorites. =(

If you find a backwards tin, simply cover the top in duct tape so it can't drive you up the wall (although if you want to go up the wall duct tape is strong enough to tape you to the wall). Likewise if the new tins are no longer your beloved silver make your own silver gray tins with duct tape.
I would have to duct tape every single tin. The issue of the backwards logos is that not all of my tins will be uniform. :)

PeteVu,

The only difference is the substitution of orange peels for cornflower pieces. The base tea and earl grey extract are identical.

I as well noticed the backwards treble clef. Thought you might make the new ones with a bass clef, though might end up looking like a 'frown' face sideways ): - not good for marketing.

Any how - glad to hear the music themes will stay.

I'm sure they will be very nice - what ever you do.

is there any chance i can order earl grey without the orange peel? I really cant stand the stuff, and i was in love with the old formula. I can deal with the lack of the cute little cornflowers, but those orange pieces just kill me.

Why not simply make two grades of Earl Grey tea a cheaper blend with orange peel and a more expensive grade with the cornflower pieces? Just like is already done with a few other types of tea such as your Keemun and Yunnan which some in two grades.

The various grades are normally a result of either different estates or different flushes. We could consider a different earl grey, but since it woudl use the same base black tea, there really wouldn't be a cheaper and more expensive version, but rather different formulations.

Of course this is all a theoretical conversation until at least after the holidays. For the moment, Chris is like that Monty Python sketch where the fat guy eats everything in the restaurant, and the waiter tempts him with a wafer at the end of meal which he eats and proceeds to explode. Any more assignments for Chris and he'll have a breakdown.

Stay out of the line of fire! That guy had some propulsion going on.

Oh no! Poor Chris! Tell him I know how he feels, Ilya. I do that to myself on a regular basis. Deep breath! My Freshman year advisor told me "Perfect is pretty, but done is beautiful!"

No problem ilya, I completely see where you are coming from and no need to rush if you plan on starting two formula blends of Earl Grey. I personally don't like Earl Grey tea, but I was almost certain that you said earlier that the reason for the substation was because of a resent drastic price increase in cornflower pieces as an alternative to raising the price, but I can't find that post so maybe I'm in danger of losing it as much as Chris is at the moment as well with everything else going on.
