We can tell Bill has been hanging out down here in the TA forum too much and not the rest of the forum. TC TA SO ... TeaChat TeawareArtisan Special Offer. This is where we feature a single TA from TeaChat, and the TA works up a special run for TeaChatters.
I will PM you more about it.
BTW, I fixed your image links for you.

Good morning,
I slept and slept... and now I'm having my morning caffine and reading all the posts from you guys. What a crew, you guys are a fun bunch . Chip, thanks for fixing the post, I was in the middle of fixing them in the edit mode and when I went to reload it after moving those [img]'s around, the satellite went down because the rain/storm was heavier. We live way out in the country. I am usually out of it for a day or two after a firing. It is a lot of concentration and heat, makes me tired and not so acurate at posting and a . I am excited about unloading, taking lots of pictures and posting them for your enjoyment. I'll be back...
... and I wish I had more time to cruise the rest of the site.

Just saw the Shui Fan on your etsy site, and that brushwork came out fantastic! Great job on the new pieces.

Re: Wood Fired Ceramics by Bill Perrine (Split-Fire Pottery)
A turquoise treasure... I just added this to my shop ... This one of a kind stoneware teapot is thrown and handbuilt, with a gorgeous turquoise oribe. The coloring and surface have been further enhanced by the natural ash effects of firing in a wood-burning kiln. It was fired to cone 12. The teapot is approximately 4 5/8" wide and 5 1/4" high (it will hold 5 ozs of your favorite brew), including the handle. I have made my own vine handle out of grape vines that grow on my property at the edge of the woods. I gathered them, soaked them for days then bent, cut and sanded them. They were tied up around a form of the right size to dry. I then wound the handles in place with leather binding. This work of art is... and it goes on. Probably one of the top 5 pieces to come out of the kiln so far! I'm happy... I mean .
.

Looks like it holds about 5 ounces. And judging the grape vine diameter to pot ratio, I guess it this teapot is approximately 4 5/8" wide and 5 1/4" high, including the handle.
Just my guess ...
Seriously though, I would have thought much bigger.

Are you saying I should have checked Bill's etsy page before asking?Chip wrote:Looks like it holds about 5 ounces. And judging the grape vine diameter to pot ratio, I guess it this teapot is approximately 4 5/8" wide and 5 1/4" high, including the handle.

Man Chip, you are good. The grape vine ratio trick? I thought I was the only one that knew that? Actually the vine it came off is in the background of the picture. And I made it that size for gyokuro. I made some closer to 9-10 oz. for sencha. The sites I checked out had them this size... If it needs to be bigger I can get out my teapot stretcher.
This one is more like 9 oz. and the yunomis are 6 ozers.
The shino tea pot is coming, I had to make another handle for it.

Re: Wood Fired Ceramics by Bill Perrine (Split-Fire Pottery)
Hey Chip and TC TA PL,
I finished the second handle for the shino kyusu. I take time to create more that just a teapot with a handle. Hopefully when you look at this you won't find anything that is off color, too light/dark... it has balance -visually. After the second stain I put on the handle, I finally got it right. A top coat of spar varnish, that isn't really dry all the way yet...but good enough for a quick pic in the fading evening light. (I'm in New York, USA and it's almost dusk here. What time of day is it there Chip, in the teacave on top of Mount Fuji? Let's see, I would guess, using the sun solace ratio inversely proportional to the snow depth on top of the mountain in the background of your avitar... minus two tea leaves gives us .... 5 3/16".) Whew, that was a tough one... The handle shows up but is not over powering. I strive for the point that you find your eye dancing all over the piece, not focused on any one thing too long. Then I added the accent gold leather on top of the brown leather "cord" for the final touch. I make these as a work of art, not just a cute teapot. Those can be purchased in a lot of other places. I will make some "quicker" teapots later, after I get the "rush from creating new art" out of my system. Well that's todays art lesson for now, teachers... zeeesh.
So, picture time...
I almost like making pottery!
PS... "PL" means pottery lovers
