Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
Some very mild and smooth shincha I bought in Okinawa. Can't read the kanji, but it is very enjoyable stuff, especially now that I've got the temperature dialed in. Nice change after the cheap tie luo han I purchased in Singapore earlier this year.

Currently drinking some of my leftover 2014 Miyabi from O-cha.
Anyone have any tips for brewing Miyabi (brewing for one person) especially in the 2nd and 3rd infusions? I want to make sure that I am getting it right for when my 2015 Miyabi shipment arrives.

Gyokuro I picked up in Okinawa. Amazing now that I've got my brewing down better. Tastes like natural Juicy Fruit gum...with umami in the first infusion. Definitely very interesting tea.

I tried for the first time, a cold brew with some deep roasted Hojicha.
The outcome is truly terrific!

Matcha usu-cha super premium from Tea of Japan (aka Matabay):

A fairly delicate and sweet matcha but very smooth. It's described as borderline koicha grade, so I'll try making koicha next time.

I'd have edited the photos to remove some of the shadow but couldn't be bothered...
This one's 37USD and is roughly in the middle of their range. I'm pleased I took the gamble at ordering from here. I'll make an order from maiko next time but will try some more of matabay's tea in the future.

Perhaps in the future, you can try to post pics that open in the browser rather than have to download them and then open them from the desktop.Pig Hog wrote:I'd have edited the photos to remove some of the shadow but couldn't be bothered...

It's easy to do once you figure it out.
Matabay seems like a promising source. What other kinds of matcha have you tried that you would compare theirs to?

This seems to be the only way I can post photos from my phone with tapatalk. If anyone knows a better way, please tell me!
I've previously had a couple of matcha from hibiki-an, a few of yuuki-cha's offerings and one of o-cha's, I'm sure. I don't remember what I had from o-cha but I reckon that this is better than hibiki-an's comparatively priced matcha. The matcha I've had from yuuki-cha was lower priced anyway but they did have a matcha called Tskui (月) a couple of years ago, which was very good.
Currently enjoying Matabay's sencha teabag at work. Nowt wrong with this tea! I'd encourage people to give it a go.
EDIT: tead off - what chawan do you have there?

Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
The chawan is made by an American potter named Joe Winter. No relation to Johnny or Edgar.
