This morning had some tasty Oolong #8 (thanks to Victoria's patient brewing instructions)
This afternoon iced Ginger Peach and a BBQ with the in-laws. (Maybe that should be SPIKED Ginger Peach!)

Almost time to wake everyone for afternoon snack. I unknowingly started a family tradition a couple of years ago when I bought holiday cupcakes as part of our festivities. Now my dtr looks forward to having them every year as we celebrate (as she calls it) "America's Birthday". So what better tea to serve than Bday Tea. The sample arrived yesterday w/my order. Here's to everybody's day drying out!

Um... so wouldn't that mean it would be more appropriate for us to all drink coffee today?britt wrote: Tea drinking is especially appropriate today, as the Boston Tea Party started it all. You are correct; nothing will change regardless of the party in control. They are exactly the same.joelbct wrote: the way the country has been [egregiously mis]"governed" lately... 6 more months! Not like that will really change anything, but it's good to dream...
Tea-related example: You purchase some really low quality tea and brew it in a porcelain pot. It tastes bad. Next you try an Yixing. Nothing has changed, it is still bad tea.
Any candidate advocating REAL change, such as Ron Paul's attempt to reduce government to gong-fu proportions, will not be allowed to make much progress.
America has been dreaming for too long. It's time for us to wake up and realize that even the best tea can brew poorly if we don't give it proper attention.
To further reinforce that this is not a political forum, but a tea forum, I will match each candidate to a tea and teacup.
Ralph Nader- drinks only organic green tea in recycled paper cups.
Hillary Clinton- likes the teas with the pleasant aroma but no taste or substance. Uses black clay cups to mask the true color of the tea, because contrary to popular opinion, she's not a skilled brewer. Prefers 1000cc Yixings because teapots, like government, should be as large as possible.
Obama- same as "Hillary Clinton."
McCain- same as "Hillary Clinton."
Ron Paul- prefers gyokuro and two ounce white porcelain cups. He believes in small, quality batches of tea and government, with nothing hidden or masked.
Good point. However, after our founding fathers dumped the tea in Boston Harbor, they didn't go to Dunkin' Doughnuts for coffee. They went to a tavern for some ale. I might be willing to make that trade-off in their honor.GeekgirlUnveiled wrote:Um... so wouldn't that mean it would be more appropriate for us to all drink coffee today?britt wrote: Tea drinking is especially appropriate today, as the Boston Tea Party started it all.
