I again had to vote oolong. I'm telling the truth. It IS my all time favorite.

Right now I am drinking some oversteeped in too-hotwater Silver Needle. It's bitter and nutty, kind of like the papery layer of skin around walnut pieces. I think I better dump it and do another fresh steep
"WULONG"

Yikes, the rout is on!

You know all the green tea drinkers are BASE jumping today...and thus cannot vote.

OOLONG / WULONG whichever you call it, it is still WINNING!

No excuses please. Accept your defeat.

Hey Chip, there's something wrong with the site; it would only let me vote for green tea once! I thought you were going to fix that?

JAPANESE GREEN TEA

More specifically, Yutaka Midori and Uji Matcha Manten.

If matcha, which is consumed in relatively small quantities, counts then I would pick Uji Matcha Manten as possibly the best tea I have ever tried.

If more conventional tea is the aim of this poll, then I pick Yutaka Midori sencha or shincha.

There's some great lighter oolongs from the high mountains of Taiwan, but I rate them a strong second place.

NO! Never!!!!

I'm drinking iced BLACK tea now. Can I vote twice?
Although my neighbors are all barbarians,
And you, you are a thousand miles away,
There are always two cups on my table.

Today I am drinking an organic lemon ginger, green tea blend, it has a chinese green tea base, lemongrass, ginger root and lemon myrtle in it. Very refreshing with a little bit of a spice (from the ginger I assume)
I do not go for flavored teas often, but this blend I love!

Yes it was a Wuyi oolong, had been brought back from a friend's visit to China.
I have tried many Qi Lans from vendors here in the states, but nothing that matched the sweet chocolatey taste this one batch had.

I love my new pot ( a 12cl Zisha Shi Piao Hu from Stephane ). Here's a quick snapshot of it, when I have more time I'll give it a proper treatment.

While I've had the pleasure of imbibing some marvelous teas, I'm tossing my top hat into the black tea ring. I must after all abide by my draconian 19th Century moral code. *top hat and monocle*

O-cha Fukamushi Supreme this morning. Delicious stuff!

In a moment of sympathetic weakness I came up with
the following poll for tomorrow to allow you to rebuild the green momentum -

Tomorrow's Poll: What is your favorite color of
grass?
And let's hope we don't have too many Kentucky residents.
LOL

Except I don't have Patty's $$$! Wow, that is a fine memory from the '70's, Salsero. i was in the 4th or 5th grade, I think.

(Lack of) Caffeine was not my problem, relaxing with a good cup of tea was what I was lacking. We were at an indoor water park, dh doesn't swim. Watching 4 kids and keeping track of their stuff is more work than vacation. I was plenty "jacked-up on Starbucks"!

I voted Oolong, so in the spirit of Oolong, I am going to go ice some down and "de-program" my brain while I have one more day off from w.o.r.k.

Great picture, again, Salsero. Nice Pot, Tenuki. I am running out of tea again. Excellent opportunity to purchase that yixing I am committed to owning!

No, I have 3 pots dedicated to green oolongs, each with different characteristics. I use the one that will manipulate the particular tea I happen to be brewing the way I want. Two of them have the full bottom required to allow baozhongs to fully open so I have two pots I can use for baozhong now. But again, it depends on the tea, I usually brew baozhongs in a gaiwan and I've been even known to use one of my puerh pots to brew oolong.

Ooo, I had my eye on that pot for a while. Stephane mentioned that the handles can get a bit hot... your experience or no?
