Cool dragon motifs. I demand that you enter at least the blue one. Preferably both.

Lovelies Sal and Vulture! Thanks for sharing them with us. Best of luck.

Vulture, I was not sure if your blue gaiwan photos were your actual entry since it seemed like you were going to reshoot when you were more awake. Either way is OK. Hope you enter the red one as well.

Tick tock tick tock, the clock is running. Remember, 11:59 PM EST Sunday is the deadline for entries.

Updated my Blue submission with a couple more shots, that one is finished. Here is my Red one:

What a struggle to get the camera to capture the real Blue colour of my Deep Blue gaiwan

"image edited out"
This is far too pale

"image edited out"
This is closer - but badly lit and poorly focussed

assembled

4 Grams of Teo Chew tea

Teo Chew in the Gaiwan after rinse

and after 1 infusion - so was the previous I think I discarded an out of focus rinse leaf

2nd Infusion following quickly - Teo Chew is very fruity

steaming away

look again while I drink the tea
but the colour is wrong

"image edited out"
when the colour is right I can't hold the focus

but the tea tastes good anyway

My camera is dying... the macro setting refuses to work :( So apologies in advance for the low resolution of this pic.

Gaiwan: Crystalline emerald gaiwan by Eilong of Taiwan. (Also called "blue pearl" by other sellers. The colour is really midway between blue and green - more of an aqua.)
Tea: Cha Wang Tai Ping Hou Kui from TeaSpring.

Who needs a camera if you have Photoshop?

Haha close but not quite. As long as the photo is clear (not blurry) I can do a lot to it. Was always skilled at photo editing but still can't create stuff from scratch too easily.

I bought it from Hou De last summer. It was the last one they had in stock.

I've been intermittently asking them ever since when they'll be getting more. There's actually a small crack in the bowl from an... unfortunate kitchen incident  and I'm keen to get another one.

Really I don't know why more sellers don't offer this gaiwan. It's both very beautiful and easy to use. Maybe it's because the gift set of "pitcher-style" gaiwan plus cups is more profitable?

P.S. Here are links to the individual pieces in this line as well as the various gift sets.

By request. ( shelob, you're a sweetie.)

This is currently the only gaiwan I have, except for one tiny shrimp gaiwan that is a saucerless style. I've had others, but tend to give them away to new tea enthusiasts, so they don't stick around long enough for photos.

I adore gaiwan (what is the plural? hmmmm...) but for some unknown reason, tend not to purchase them. Maybe when my chawan obsession cools off, I'll spend some time on finding the perfect gaiwan set(s)?
