yeah, i wonder if it's a new design/fad/concept, possibly unique to one artist or a handful of artists in Taiwan? i had never seen it before. i saw a few pots here and there in a couple of shops in Yingge (the famous ceramics area), but i didn't think to try to compare the bottoms of the pots from the different shops to see if they were made by the same person. There's not a stamp on the bottom of mine, but there is a signature along with a year (2014, iirc).bonescwa wrote:I like the shape. The texture of the surface makes me feel uncomfortable, is there a certain name for that technique in Taiwan?pedant wrote:don't like the pot?bonescwa wrote:Nice walking liberty!
it's cool how people see art (or whatever you want to call this) differently. to me, it has a very natural look. when i saw it, i was immediately reminded of cracked earth:Drax wrote:Very interesting texture!
I wonder if the color has anything to do with it? If the pot were brown, the texture would have more of a bark appearance. If it were white, maybe more like cauliflower ( ). But in this color, the texture is... striking? Unnatural? Well, either way, definitely interesting.
and so you see, it is a thirsty pot begging for me to brew tea in it and pour water on it.
