EDIT: and also kool Seeker!
Getting ready ... Shawn's Ippuku-wan is on the left.
I prepared the matcha in this Korean Yuzamashi as I usually do for an Ippuku-wan ... Kaoru organic from O-Cha.
Ready to pour ...

Nice Chip!
Love that Korean yuzamashi, and shawn's wan has a gorgeous interior.

The Korean yuzamashi is a bit of an "oddity" in that it pours like teflon leaving virtually nothing behind, completely dried. It is really bizarre. Though it just looks like it is a regular glaze ...Seeker wrote:Nice Chip!

Here a little of the foam was left at the spout after pouring which then slipped back down, but if you look at the bottom of the yuzamashi, it poured completely and is dry like it was not used at all.

Wow, that's a gorgeous chawan--I love the subtle motion of the piece. Is that from one of our TC artisans?Seeker wrote:This morning's MatchaWan.
cheers.
And the matcha looks so nice too--maybe someday I'll achieve a froth like that ....

Hi Hope,
Yes it is by one of our TC artisans - Cory Lum aka bonjiri.
He named this one - "gingko leaves falling on moonless night".
Thank you for your compliment.
Keep at the froth, be sure to use a chasen, and you will acheive it!
I use the "W" form, vigorous strokes in the shape of a "W", while also continuously moving side to side. And of course - not scraping the bottom of the chawan with the chasen tines, but submerged enough to almost brush the bottom.
Nen - great chawan!
Yummy lookin' matcha!
cheers.

Here's my new monster jade chawan
I know, I know, matcha is green and this chawan is green as well. Well, greenish, to be exact. It's jade with a splash of blue on the inside.
Haven't made matcha in it yet but I will very soon.
Here are some pics of this new member of the family:

Nice cccp!
Really love that 3rd shot of the profile - great shape; I like how it spreads out a bit at the bottom corners.
Look forward to seeing some matcha in that great new bowl.
cheers.

Finally made some matcha in my jade chawan.
Here are some pics.
I also made this matcha leaf for dispaying matcha before putting it in chawan. Or it can be used for displaying other tea leaves as well:

Oooh, from chazuna to chanuma!
I like the chaba. Those dark colors always make the tea look spectacular...
