Golden tea. They have a nice shop in Guanhzhou. Tell them Will Slack sent you.
Edit: And ask (politely) for a discount!

This is another website for Puer, I haven't bought from them, but their prices are really good and they have an excellent selection of all the big factories. Dayi, Xiaguan, Changtai, Mengkurongshi, Lincang, Liming, Fuhai, Boyou, Guoyan, etc., etc.

If you scroll down, there is are a bunch of links, you can search by factory or by year.

Does any one know if any of these places ship to the States? Or is this just window-shopping for things that are at prices we are likely to never ever pay Stateside?

You can ship to the states, but requires Chinese. www.panli.com is a buying agent that can ship all of your stuff together over seas. Shipping ain't cheap but it's similar to other sellers. But again requires Chinese.

Thanks for the links people. I'm pretty new to pu. I've tried a couple cheap 08 shu bing and a 09 sheng bing. I have yet to try any aged sheng. Any recommendations for some good bing/tuo that I can drink immediately (no patience for aging).

I've heard good things about v93 shu. Any others? Also is buying 2009/08 shu too fresh to drink right away? The bing I've tried still have that fermentation flavor for the first several steeps. Afterwards quite enjoyable. As for sheng I tried an 09, but it just tasted like stale green tea to me. Does that mean I won't like sheng, or will the older stuff taste very different?

So if you could recommend a couple sheng and shu that I can drink right away, I'd be really appreciate it. Thanks

yangshuoren-

Thanks for the suggestions. They both look nice. Have you tried them yet or are they still on their way?

For me some latest yixing toys (茶 宠) listed on Taobao are interesting.
Some other people look for teawares and "standard puerh teas" made of well-known company because of relatively lower price listed on Taobao than a normal "westener's price".

Thanks betta. Yeah I guessed that pu'er would be a favorite here. :)

I'm interested in wrapping this info into a little 'intro to buying pu'er tea on taobao' blog post. I have a lot of expat readers in China, but most don't know a thing about buying tea.

How about in terms of which Taobao shop you decide to buy from? Do you look for lots of photos, or city of origin, or shop ratings?

City of origin is important. Don't buy from big cities. Try to buy close to source. Also Reviews are important. 100% positive or close as possible. Also need lots of reviews. About 1000 or more.
