How's the mother kiln comming?

Really looking forward to the spring chawan offering!

best,
Adam
Thanks Adam!

The kiln is in progress..... Two actually, with a shared center wall between them. Both are cross drafts with one being capable of firing with pretty much anything, wood, fryer oil, used motor oil, or gas, with it's little neighbor next to it being a more conventional gas reduction crossdraft. They're both fairly small which allows for more frequent firings and a faster learning curve.

I should have chawan files to you in the next few days with much to choose from. Some great soft pink Mino style Tengu pieces as well as a number of Hagi style Ido kohiki chawan with blushes of peach and light yellow.

Best,
R

Thank you sir! Really looking forward to it!

Good to hear about the kilns progress. That's a great idea having two kilns in one. You'll still use the little chawan kiln as well I assume..

be talkin with you soon,

Adam

Hey Rob,

YEA! Safe to say I was blown away by the selection this time! Makes me think the subscriber base has grown a bit. Either that or you're being very generous with the amount of selection. I was pleased. Got my email off to ya.

Just a note...chawan #13 above was missing from the emails you sent me, also there was no #5. Maybe this was on purpose, I don't know>>just wanted to give you a heads up. Actually, if I had seen #13 I probably would have chosen it as my #1 selection. Please see the email I sent you.

Anyhoo, kudos for the wonderful selection and effort to capture the pieces thoroughly! It really shows :D

thanks a billion-thousand,

Adam

Your work is rich and has this plenitude, calm and deep with subtile movement .
I like specially your dark- black -blue bowl.
Have you some photos of your little kiln ? is it a raku one ?
