Re: Show Off Your Pots and Cups XII
This little glass teapot was $6.99 holds about 200mL
and has a glass strainer built into the spout
This is a very small yixing pot, 60mL, $5.99, probably not the finest clay, but highly functional
also with a strainer built in
and this is the strainer built into the kyusu from dens ($50), which holds about 6 oz; the strainer is finer and much larger than the others, and drains finely cut senchas very quickly
http://www.denstea.com/index.php?main_p ... th=275_433
And for stuff that gets through the larger straining holes in the chinese pots, I use these funnel strainers ($2.99) on top of the cup or thermos
I bought the kyusu online because my local chinatown tea shop only had some with a metal strainer inset. I've not seen anything as simple and inexpensive as the other stuff online.

Nice tea wares as usual everyone!
Just got a hand made chawan to go along with the kyusu I bought a week or two ago. Came with the coaster to boot Nothing too fancy but its my first Japanese tea cup so I'm pretty happy!
-Nacho
PS How do I get the image to show full size without having to click on it?

Great Kyusu, Geek!!!
Nice Wan/Yunomi Cha Nacho, tell us a bit about it? Size, what region (looks like Karatsu)?
In order to display the full size photo w/o members having to click on it, you have to download it to a photo host site like photobucket, then post it as
A photo posted in this manner will only show as long as you do not change it in your photo host account!!! If you do it as an attachment as you did, it is downloaded to TC and won't get lost unless it is lost by the forum. So, there are pros and cons to both.
Pretty easy to do after a try or two ... so easy, a caveman can do it.

Re: Show Off Your Pots and Cups XII
Hey Chip,
Thanks for the photo info. As for the Wan, it comfortably holds about 220 ml, unfortunately it didn't come with any info, but I asked the salesperson and she said it was from the south of Japan, where much of the pottery was made. So Karatsu is a very likely possibility. Good eye

This is crazy. I love this so much that it was in my dream last night lol. I was in a mall back in Europe and went to all the stores to try and find it. They all told me that they don't carry it but I knew they were lying to me and were hiding them. How crazy is that
