Wow!
I've never purchased a vintage chawan - how is it? Does it have any aroma?
Would you be willing to share pics of the koudai (foot) and chadamari?
And of course I'd love to see a pic of this lovely bowl with matcha.
Thanks, Seeker! I adore this piece; never seen anything like it before. The aroma can be best described as 'old.' My boyfriend has the snazzier camera, but all I had at present was my Blackberry. No matcha shot, though. This baby is far too prized and merrily sits within its chabako display. :D

Very nice - beautiful mikomi.
Thanks for the shots.

Do I get the sense that you will never use it for matcha/chanoyu?
:(

I wonder if it is somewhat common not to use acquired vintage chawan for matcha/chanoyu?

Shyrabbit's "In Praise of Shadows" once again, this time together with some purchases from Darjeeling.cz: a tray made by Mirka Randová and two "Cha Cha" - candy made from matcha, marzipan and chocolate.

Here is my new stunning chawan by Cory Lum. It's really incredible and I love it! It's a very welcome member of the family. Thank you Cory!
