LOL, yes, I got one. I had my address, paypal and all the relevant information copied, I was sitting on the refresh button, hit PM the second the page went live, pasted in my info and 5 quick picks, and hit "send" within 2 minutes.
I was NOT going to miss this one just for being too slow. The last two I was a bit late to the party, and lucky to get in only by virtue of there having been larger offerings.

Re: HAGI SO 12 "Spirits"
Well, I put my alarm clock at 6am when I should have put it one hour earlier !
Wonderful pieces really. I do have one Seigan's guinomi which is not that different - not reaching this level of transparency though - so I don't have too many regrets.
To have the opportunity to purchase such refined pieces here is very incredible. I'll be prepared for the next one !

Re: HAGI SO 12 "Spirits"
I got chewed out by my boss this morning because of this SO. We had a companywide meeting at 9:30 and I held the whole thing up waiting until 10:00, so I could put my order in. My boss thought I was dealing with a customer and when he found out that I held up a meeting of around 100 people so I could buy more tea ware, he wasn't too thrilled. Well worth it though!

That's some dedication! If those 100 people saw the pictures, I'm sure they'd agree it was totally worth it.IPT wrote:I got chewed out by my boss this morning because of this SO. Sadly no. None of my coworkers are really into tea. My boss drinks a bit, but it is mostly the gifts that people give him. We'll talk about tea occasionally. I'll show him it when it arrives and he'll forgive me.

Re: HAGI SO 12 "Spirits"
Hagi SO #5 ... as with all Hagi, there was a story behind it. This one was not at all as planned even though it was a SO original and was attractive in its own way. It was to be darker and tapered and the inside was rather uninspiring by Seigan Blue standards. I was not super pleased with the results, Mago knew this and negotiated a lower price which as it turned out made it a very attractive SO. It sold out in minutes.Geekgirl wrote:which one was #5? I can't remember.
As it turns out, this is one of several SOs that has been "replicated" and can be found out there, though the SO version is superior IMHO. (I bought a clone and compared).
So, since I was not super pleased, I never created the official Hagi SO 5 topic, and then when it sold out so quickly, I did not after either. Seemed moot at that point.
Nice runs of the Hagi SO 5 pictured with Hagi SO 6 Sansai ... this is NOT SO 12.
And globby runs
And really super oni Hagi clay!!!

Re: HAGI SO 12 "Spirits"
Oh yeah, I remember it now. I think I ended up getting one of the nicer ones on that run, and then, like you, picked up another on ebay from Mago. In the ebay one, the glaze was a little more vivid on the inside, but the clay was not nearly so unique.
