Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
Having some pretty tasty 2014 Imperial Mao Jian from Jing. The leaves are quite tiny and the dry leaf aroma is fantastic. You can buy as little as 25g for a try.

Did i search incorrectly? I didn't seem to find the tea. Don't all the Marukyu-Koyamaen teas have names? I drink a lot of Marukyu-Koyamaen sencha and never noticed a Fukamushi. Curious to try it.Teaism wrote:You can get it from rakuten. Google rakuten and fujien.
Thanks again!

This is one of them. From there you can navigate around the shop:rdl wrote:Did i search incorrectly? I didn't seem to find the tea. Don't all the Marukyu-Koyamaen teas have names? How did you brew it?William wrote:Today some Sencha, Kanayamidori cultivar, from Kirishima. Not so good
Although I do not have a Kanayamidori on hand ... so I cannot say how I brew it, I am receiving a shincha selection very soon ... from O-cha.

Not a brew's problem, just quality, Chip.Chip wrote:How did you brew it?William wrote:Today some Sencha, Kanayamidori cultivar, from Kirishima. Not so good

I ordered a selection of 2014 Chinese greens from Tea Trekker to celebrate the spring tea harvest. I began with one of the samples included by TT - Dragon Whiskers, Mao Jian Pluck. Delicately sweet and fresh and easy to brew in my Greenwood Studio Gaiwan. An excellent way to end the teaday.
Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
Today I tested the TPHK grandma style. I now own the perfect glass for this - the Gibraltar style which has facets on the lower portion. The faceted portion is 150 ml, and the upper part stays cool enough to hold easily. The tea has the delicious sweet vegetal taste that I remember and is less expensive than the TPHK I bought last year.
Re: Official what GREEN are you currently drinking?
I finally got my hands on some fresh Long Jing. The Wan Ling Teahouse is the first European vendor that has it available (at least according to my searches). Next year I will probably order it directly from China, I don't want to wait this long to taste the fresh new tea...
The tea itself is very nice, fresh, crisp, with lots of chestnuts flavor and that typical aroma that reminds me of beef soup (maybe umami?).

Chinese greens do look pretty in glass pots - time to dust off my glass taiwan.
The problem I have experienced with ordering tea directly from vendors located in China is that shipping is sooooooo slow. The vendors send out the tea that day or the next, and then the package disappears into the chinese postal system for weeks. I picture the fresh green leaves wilting and aging in the heat of some storage room or the hold of a ship. So I started ordering chinese greens from american vendors because they have it air shipped.

I've ordered from Jing teashop twice this spring and both times I had my tea within ten days. They ship out of Shanghai which makes a difference.JRS22 wrote:Chinese greens do look pretty in glass pots - time to dust off my glass taiwan.

I've ordered from Jing before. I couldn't order from them this time around because I wanted TPHK. Jing didn't have it yet, and they're going to be closed for the month of June while traveling.puerhking wrote:I've ordered from Jing teashop twice this spring and both times I had my tea within ten days. Maybe it makes a difference that I'm on the east coast because I usually have to wait 3 weeks for my tea orders from Jing.

Having early-spring Fujian green in my new Ben Shan Lv Ni pot....
Spotted a quite of the day and perhaps enough to relieve this week's stress and depression.
Fujian greens..economic and plays well for the price.
Ben Shan Lv Ni Yixing also pairs very well with green tea....quality BSLN pots are really rare these days...
