Having a late night cuppa of tea when I got to know that the abbot, Kruba Neuachai of Golden Horse Monastery in Chiangrai, thailand, came down with a stroke recently.
Kruba's work at the dangerous thai/cambodia border for the past decade is extreme admirable. if you would like to find out more you can look for the documentary Buddha's Lost children on youtube.
long story short, I would like to part with some of my spare pots with all proceeds, minus shipping costs, to be consolidated and donated to the Golden Horse Monastery in contribution to Kruba's hospitalization fees. Monks do not have life/health insurance in thailand. once the donation is done, i'll post up the receipt from the temple.
i'll start with some entry level pots. some of these pots are probably valued at more than twice my listed price if you survey the south east asian market/malaysian market. since i didnt really get them incredibly expensive, no reason for me to sell them incredibly expensive either. dont pm me with queries like.. hey! how is it possible that you can sell the pot for such a low price?! if you wish to pay me more, all the merrier, since its all for charity.
Re: FS - Pots for a Good Cause
First up.. a Qingshuini, the clay is good quality, reminiscent of the type you will see in the 70s, probably made end 80s to early 90s. medium fired, nice pour, reasonably good lid fit.
Size - 200ml
price : poof! gone!
shipping : -
there's a little "chip" mark on the spout, it has been there since day 1 and was not because it was knocked against anything. probably occured before firing, but hasnt fell off yet. the pot has been used in the past for green teas, and has taken on a nice smooth texture. i had buffed the pot with a cotton cloth before retiring it into storage.

mid 80s to late 80s type of qing shui ni, classical type of qing shui ni that started becoming mainstream from late 80s onwards. texture of the clay is nice, fine and soft, should gloss up very quickly. pour is ok, lid fit is good at certain rotated positions of the lid. these were single pass high fired. will be great for chaozhou gongfucha
size : 3 cup, probably 50-60ml

total available - 4 pieces.

bigger hei-ni shuiping. these were procured from an old local tea merchant, i.e. pekk sin chun whom used to import them by truck loads in the 80s-90s.
high fired, reasonably good lid fit, fast pour. volume is about 80-90ml. 4 cup size. nice for gongfucha

Those little ones seem like they must be larger than 25 mL. I will take one regardless, maybe 2....

My hat's off to you--it's an incredibly generous gesture, and I'm sure the monastary will appreciate the donation.
