Thanks Chip for all the work!
It seems that there are a few new Gisui on Artistic Nippon's website: http://www.artisticnippon.com/product/t ... jizou.html, http://www.artisticnippon.com/product/t ... ranes.html
but the ones in the SO look more interesting to me.
Yes, those two initiated my quest on AN. As it turns out, those two were purchased from a third party, not Gisui. I believe they are from the 1980" if I remember correctly.

All the Gisui in this SO were purchased directly from Gisui a few weeks ago. I think Toru asked him at the right point in time as he had these for a couple years.

Not a huge deal ... but I feel better about it this way. Seemed like it was meant to be!

EDIT: seems the ones currently on AN may have been around on the aftermarket, maybe. No wood boxes. Just a hunch.

I think if I asked, most family members would say #1 is ... "hmmm, interesting," meaning ugly.

The pink one is nice, but the sutra engraving ... whew, they must do it with the tip of a needle.

Yeah, truly amazing. I love the shape of that one, too.

Yep, I showed a few of these to my gf and she wasn't at all impressed by any of the "dirty" ones although she was much less tactful than "interesting".

Seems like an excuse to try for two--one of the more 'polished' pots, and one of the 'dirty' beauties.
