2.5 gr per 6 oz is a standard brew, I usually Yunnan Gold stronger, however. Let's say 4 gr, that is 25 6 oz ups of tea and if you do multiple infusions it is 50 to 75 to 100 cups depending on how good the tea is and how patient you are as it weakens. 50 including second infusions should be conservative. So, 25 2-infusion sessions.

Oops, my bad too. Obviously I thought you were asking about how many cups of tea it would brew. It just so happens that I have a bag of almost exactly 100 grams and it looks like almost 2.5 cups of dry tea. Maybe 2.25.

Hope that helps.

I just received 3 oz of the Yunnan gold from Yunnan sourcing.

It took forever to get here, but well worth it. I am thoroughly enjoying this tea. I have never seen so little astringency in black tea, its amazing.

Thanks for sharing that, Jeremy. Yes, the lack of astringency is one of the main characteristics of Gold. Did it come in the suspicious looking ziplock bag? I don't know how that stuff gets through customs looking like that! Deep chronic, I think is the current expression.

Exactly which one did you buy? Last time I looked, Scott was offering so many similar ones that I didn't know what to tell someone else to order.

Yunnan gold is my fav black tea, and I don't really drink black tea! It reminds me a little of cooked puerh, but less earthy, more peppery.

Drinking some Yunnan Sourcing Yunnan Gold 07 right now... yum! I've gotta say, Yunnan Gold ages well, at least in the ~1-year spectrum.

Had a yunnan gold premium called 'yunnan gold standard' at Miro teas the other day. It was simply stunning. Their bodum brewing set was also a really amazing way to experience this tea so amazon got another order because of it. Check out their selections at http://www.mirotea.com, sadly they don't do online orders. If you are ever in seattle I would recommend you check them out, based on my first visit it's gonna be my new tea hangout now that FLT is moving to a place with no tables or space to hang out.

So do your East Coast Friends a favor and ask them whence they source their Yunnan Gold Image
