Tuesday TeaDay 11/11/08 Work tea?

by Chip » Nov 11th, '08, 00:23

Welcome TeaFriends to TeaDay.
Please be sure to stop by often and share what is in your cup today, all day.

Yesterday most responders indicated that tea prep was pretty easy
at work/school. Also most enjoyed their tea at work as well.
You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today, Omegapd suggested we take yesterday's topic one step further.
He wondered if you took great tea, good tea, OK tea, or dregs to work/school?
Please share what is the quality of your work tea?

I am looking forward to sharing great tea with everyone on TeaDay.
Bottoms up.

When I work I take good tea. Not great tea, but good tea.

I'm thinking about making some peppermint tea right now...

Mmm, I said dregs, but sometimes they rise to OK. It just seems like a waste to throw good tea away on work!!

Now this is good tea. Our own Hop_Goblin of the Ancient Tea Horse Road blog suggested this selection. Thanks, Hop!

Here is a close up of the pot.

Mmm, new monitor and I'm getting blinded by these photos. They are so bright!

I do drink good tea at work, maybe even great sometimes. I occasionally bring semi-decent teapots to work also. This is because I don't drink tea in the evening much, so 5 days out of 7, I'm doing most or all of my tea-drinking at work. I don't always devote as much energy and thought to tea-drinking as some of the tea I drink at work justifies, but life is short, and I have to drink the good teas sometimes.

I do try to save the really special stuff for times when I'm at home with my girlfriend (though her response to questions about how any tea is usually gets a response of "it's ok"), or drinking with other tea nerds.

As I said yesterday, I'm stuck with teabags for work. Is there an option lower than dregs?

I make great tea at work - Most of my life is spent at work, so why waste all those years drinking cruddy stuff?

This is kind of an odd question for me.....I suppose I BRING great tea with me, but I have a steady stash of OK tea at the place where I do my work/research. If I get in a new tea I really like and it is a really excellent tea I might bring some in to work and brew it that day but I dont bring large amount and leave them there......
*Right now I have Rishi 2008 harvest Dragonwell in my cup!

I have some Gu Zhang Mao Jian Chinese green at my department right now which is pretty good it's just I lack all the necessary wares etc. to make it as good as it could be!

No tea as of yet but as I have an essay to write today so I will probably have some Yunnan gold shortly. Also contemplating opening my Dong Ting Bi Luo Chun for later.

Have a good day everyone :D

I chose OK tea. I don't want to waist any good tea because it usualy dosn't brew well in the IngenuiTEA.

In honor of National Yancha Month my office tea is Huang Kuan Yin.
I almost never get around to making a decent cup of tea at work, but I have had this tin stashed in my cube just in case. Considering taking a koryo and an electric kettle to keep things simple. Does anyone know of a kettle that makes a little less noise than the utiliTea?

I usually bring just OK tea with me to work. Like Tai Ping, I may occasionally bring a great tea with me, but the tea I leave at work is not something that I'd want to drink at home on a regular basis. I like a work tea to taste good, but something I don't have to obsess over and feel cheated if I don't give it the type of attention it deserves...

+1

I'm trying my first puerh today, which means I completely skipped trying black teas (although this puerh is of the cooked variety). It's a "tuo cha," came in little niblets. Very interesting!!
