96 CNNP Ba Chong Beeng Raw - I only drank 2 cups. It is good, but I probably would't remember this.
Re: Pu of the day
90s CNNP 'Shui Lan Ying' / Water Blue Mark Raw - Taste wise is unique. Some were saying it has the Plum taste.
Re: Pu of the day
70s Yellow Mark - RM10k (USD3200) per beeng. Yub finally get to try it. Some were saying it has the dry orange skin taste. Is it nice? Definitely yes because of the price tag. But would I buy? Probably yes, if it cost RM100 (USD32). The shop owner was saying in 1995, people were selling it at RM25 (USD8) and nobody wants it. I wonder why would people pay so much for such a taste, it is not great.

Are you sure...? The pictures from the book don't match well with the "source" pictures you show.auhckw wrote:Ok, I figure out the confusion...
For example, the "source 1" and "source 2" picture wrappers say across the top in cursive "yunnan menghai" -- but the book pictures only say "menghai" in cursive. The book pictures that say "yunnan menghai" are all 'straight' characters.
Unless if the wrapper isn't supposed to match the nei fei...?
But aside from that, great pictures on all of the other pu you've been drinking... awesome!

Oh boy.. you are right. I was focusing on the nei fei.. didn't notice the header.. will check out the books again.Drax wrote:Are you sure...? The pictures from the book don't match well with the "source" pictures you show.auhckw wrote:Ok, I figure out the confusion...

Is source 2 & 3 per the book? Did I get it right this time? This is 301 only version. Cannot find 302 version.

1997 CNNP Yiwu Raw - I was drinking this with a senior and he said this is what the old timers would like to drink for a Yiwu tea. I am so used to the young Yiwu which is light and gives good aroma, but this is a totally different kind of Yiwu taste. It tasted complicated. Frankly, this tea is not a love on first sip kind of tea for me. Maybe need to drink a couple of times more to acquired the taste.

90s Liu Bao - The shop was promoting this, and my expectations were raised after I heard the price tag. After giving it a try, it was a let down. It is smooth but flat and light. Can't feel much aftertaste except dryness. Maybe the quantity he used is too little. For the price tag it carry, I would expect more.

2003 - 302 - 380g
Breaking out this today. Not nearly as good as the other one perhaps needed more time?

I've tried EoT's 2011 Nannuo 3 times now. I'm still unsure of how I feel about it.
The flavor is really 'meaty,' if that makes any sense. It seems like there's one long flavor note/profile, and it kinda resonates during the whole sip. There's not much change in flavor while taking a sip, or during the whole session for that matter. There's some decent bitterness, nothing too powerful. The endurance is pretty good as well. There's also some high notes with some citrus-tang that I think creates a rather dry mouthfeel.
It's good tea, but after sampling the Mannuo I'm a little bit disappointed with this one.
