Show Off Your Pots and Cups VII

by teaguru » Nov 17th, '08, 22:11

Moderator edit: Go back to Volume VI here.

I only really have these two right now...

My beloved Henley teapot and two little cups my mom bought from a vendor along the waterfront.

But fear not! A couple of gaiwans are in the mail, due to arrive any day!

Wouldn't that be a lion, or some facimile of a dragon?
Actually, they are called foo dogs
Just remembered to look on the insert  It's actually a Tian Lu.

Very attractive chataku, Olivier! I spotted them on eBay when they were under auction. Glad that you got them!

Went to a second hand shop today and came out with a new cup and pot.
And since you all seem to have figurines, here's mine

Payed 37 cents, i guess? (0,37 USD) for the cup and 4,34USD for the pot.
This will be good untill my stuff from Dragon Tea House arrives.

evilberg, cute figure!!
Even though my teapot is different from yours, they are somewhat of similar style :D I currently use it at home, but thinking of putting it in office to make my office more colorful :P

Yes, they were VERY well packed with lots and lots of bubblewrap and newspaper.

I bought this container at a local treasure mart. It was labeled "Unusual Oriental Jar" on the tag (which I thought was funny). I passed it up the first time I went to the treasure mart because they wanted $14 for it and I didn't have that much cash on me at the time. However, I went back a week later and there was a 20% off sale for the booth that this jar was sitting in... so I bought it.

Now, I just don't know what to do with it. It's really pretty, at least I think it is, but I haven't figured out its intended purpose. Is it just a jar for anything particular? The lid fits on very loosely so I don't think I would want to store tea in it. It's only about 5-6 inches tall so I'm not sure what else could be stored in it.

Another option I see with this jar is being used as a lidded tea cup. If I could find a strainer that would fit down into the jar, I think it could work.

What do you think?
