Hi,
you can tell from my number of posts here that i am very new to this forum. I have been looking for black teas in the last months, but i never bought one and i only use the ones from the supermarket. So, maybe if you guys can help me by giving me your 1st and 2nd favorite tea that you enjoy so I can try it.

well, maybe an interesting comparison would be to try some real Darjeeling. I know, every supermarket package says this, but this region produces astonishingly beautiful teas.
So my tip is: Find some fresh, high quality First Flush and Second Flush Darjeeling.

Hi - I've particularly enjoyed Fu Shou Mei Feng Qing black tea from yunnansourcing.com, I'd recommend that.

My favorites are Yunnan Sourcing's Ailao High Mountian Red and Verdant Tea's Laoshan Black

At the moment I'm really enjoying both Ceylon and Darjeeling black tea.
I also like the blend of black teas known as Earl Grey as well.

Impossible for me to choose just one.
Darjeeling and Nepali teas are very high up on my list.
Japanese and Korean black teas are also some of the most interesting ones I've tasted.
Most of the Yunnan blacks are too sweet for my taste as well as the Taiwanese blacks that I've had. They are still good, but not my preferred profile.

The Korean blacks that I like are made by a teamaster I met on one trip there. He sells domestically and I had a friend who lived nearby that would supply me. The Japanese blacks you can get through some of the vendors that are popular for sencha/gyokuro, and such. There are many.

Shiuwen at floating leaves tea had a wonderful yunnan gold that I just loved! Went to order more, and it was gone.
I've been on a black tea kick lately with several selections from FLT, tea trekker, rishi, jing, EoT, and Upton.
Does Upton sell any good tea? Everything I got from them is tuition tea. To be avoided.
As I've gotten older, I'm more sensitive to sheng puerh. None at all in this cold weather season. I have a cake of shou from FLT I'm chipping away at.
I love Rishi's rooibos for a non-caffeinated warm cup at night.
