Yummy Chai Great Hot or Cold!!!!

We love Chai tea, especially Adagio's Since I became the Tea Maps coordinator, I have had the privledge of visiting lots of tea houses across the state... When I go I usually do not tell anyone that I am about to visit, unless they say Just stop by, then I go un-noticed. I have visited almost all of the tea houses in Florida except for the ones in Miami, and Ft Lauderdale, and The very end... Naples... I have others who live in that area give me a review.

When I visit these places they always serve me Chai... I think they know I enjoy this tastey drink, and You can get fulled up on this you forget about lunch.

I feel that Chai has advantages... I am a woman going through her "Female" changes and the comfort of Chai has done me good... the cramps and feelings of I dont want to be here, makes me feel so much better.. and calming... I think that the black tea and also the Ginger, Cloves and Cinnamon added gives it a robust flavor to the tea.

I just love it...

That's fantastic Linda. I love hearing people enjoying tearooms. The nearest one to me is 38 miles according to the tea map. Is there any way people can contact their state's tearoom directors? I'd love to ask if my state (Mississippi) has been updated in a while (hoping to find a closer tearoom) Unfortunately it's too hot in the South to drink much hot tea in the summer, as much I love it.

At this time, we only have about a dozen or so TeaMap coordinators, and none for Mississippi. If you would like to be our coordinator for that state, please send me a Private Message. The only think we ask you is to keep us abreast of new/closed tearooms, events, or anything tea-related happening in your area.

Lady Arden I think by you being the rep for this company is really great, I love it, I get to see all the new tea houses in my state, and it forces me to do things I normally do not do... For instance, I am also a Red Hat Lady and I also belong to several other groups, as well, the Purple Sisters and other fine Tea House Ladies Society's and so on, that way I can spread the news about what this group is all about etc... and so on... I feel that this is the best way to tell the world about this great tea place, and meet new friends along the way!!

I also feel that Lyle the cutie and Ilya are two fine gentleman, that can teach you the ropes, Yeppers I got my very own page, and they are gonna put my photo in when I send it over this weekend... Life gets so caught up with you, I have been in this for many months and forget about the pic... I told hubby about this, he says as long as its not no bad site i can put my face on a stamp!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm a little worried though because I'm not sure I can make it all over the state. I live in the extreme North of my state and it's literally hundreds of miles to coast. I work full-time and would probably have trouble making it further than a couple of hours from my home. I'd be more than happy to write reviews about visiting some, but the whole state might be a bit bigger than I can handle with my current status.

Is there some sort typical form you fill out when evaluating a place? I've actually already started compiling lists of places I intend to visit, but unfortunately some are across the border in Tennessee, which wouldn't be useful for Mississippi's site.

I've heard of the Red Hat Ladies -now that is a terrific group. I also really appreciate all the replies from the great Adagio reps on this site. Hope I'm not bugging y'all too much.

Lady Arden, You do not have to go to every tea house, but I do cause I find out so much about other people and I enjoy too...

As far as the red hat ladies they are an ok bunch, but there is a great organization called the Purple Sisters...
Purplesisterhood they are a great group of ladies who drink all kinds of tea, Mrs. Thompson, brews Purple Blends, and Blueberry Brides for her members... and its great to taste these different kinds of teas...

Here is more names... BlueBerry Brides... for the gal who remarries again

I hope to attend other tea houses soon, out of my area... to see how they also brew their blends.

Do you mean the oriental spice black tea? That was the only reference to chai I found on searching the site. I am awaiting getting some of the oriental spice in my first shipment of Adagio teas and every day I load the page eagerly watching the tracking route.

I would love to see a more complete reference of tea houses for this state, I think I'll consider it. I know I can't visit the whole state atm though.. but I'll see what I can do.

How do you all prefer to make the Adagio Oriental Spice Chai? Do you add anything to it while or after brewed before enjoying the cup?

I did receive my oriental spice and it is excellent in my opinion. I usually put about 50/50 milk/water up to 75/25 m/w in a pot, add 2 sp oriental spice tealeaves to the pot, and heat on low until the milky beverage is hot enough to drink and it's a caramel color from the tea. Other than adding sugar/splenda to taste this is all I add. This tea already has all the spices I need in it -delicious flavor if you like chai. Some people just heat the water, make normal tea, then add some milk afterwards, but I find the tea permeates the flavor of the drink better when slowly heating the milk and tea together. I hope this answers your question.

This is close to how I make it as well. 50/50 solution usually and heat it in a pot. Once it gets warm, I add honey for my sweetener, and the tea. Let it sit for 5 min.

(Masala) Chai is really good stuff. And the Oriental Spice tastes really great brewed as plain iced tea.
