Yunnan noir

by shardy53 » Jan 22nd, '09, 20:41

I tried the Adagio Yunnan Noir twice this week and I do believe that it is the best of the three Adagio Yunnans yet in my opinion. It is the most flavorful and also is strong enough to mix with other black teas and not be lost in the mix.

I generally do not enjoy Yunnan blacks, but I did enjoy Noir quite a bit. I thought it offered a nice complexity. Dried fruit, cocoa, and faint pepper. The liquor was a lovely deep red.

I'm lovin' the yunnan noir. I'm working on a sample but I can see more of it in my future.

I agree, I like it best of the new blacks too.

I'm liking it too! I don't know how many people here remember that Yunnans regularly had a strong pepper flavor that was fantastic (years ago) - the pepper flavor in the noir though is quite faint.

Yes, I do remember. Perhaps it is the FAINT pepper that I like.
