Teaclass mistake?

by zellmaestro » Oct 14th 24 10:17 pm

I've been going through all the Teaclass articles and quizzes, and I've been learning so much! I think this may have been an error, though, and I was wondering what is actually correct?

Under the advanced article about matcha, this is one passage:

"Usucha tea is matcha from leaves of a tea plant younger than thirty years old. Koicha matcha is made from the first harvest of older trees and has a more mellow, sweeter taste. It is thicker because it uses a smaller quantity of water. Therefore, it is considered 'thick' tea compared to usucha or 'thin' tea. Thick matcha, koicha, is also made slightly differently, without froth, and has..."

Yet on the quiz after this, one of the questions is which type of matcha is "thick" matcha - and the "correct" answer is "usucha" and koicha isn't even an option. Which is it?

Grammatical errors aside, I keep finding funny little mistakes like this and I wonder if much editing is done on these and whether Adagio would want me to bring it up, or whether I should just shrug it off and keep learning.

Anyway, was koicha supposed to be the answer even though it wasn't an option?
