2013 Ai Lao [YS via Greenteaguru]

This has gone through some changes since I got it last year (and have kept in a multi-layer bag). Some of the initial bitterness and adstringency have subsided giving way to delicate perfumey notes that remind me of certain tibetan incense sticks (juniper, sandal wood, nutmeg, spikenard). Not that durable but pretty mellow and tasty with a nice viscosity and impressive, grounding qi - not bad for the 30 pounds I paid last year.

2007 Yong De white bud sheng from Norbu, amazingly still warm 30 hours after preparation of a thermos full--the thermos unopened until now. Light, sweet, a little floral, tasty, and warm but not too hot--just right for this afternoon.

if you mean unmixed as 单株, no it isn't..LBZ also varies a lot in quality in the town

plus, 2016's price crown went to Bingdao, not LBZ

Small yellow label from EoT purchased many years ago was broken up for drinking over the past winter. I think this was an 8582 from late 90s.

Going to need to hurry to finish my winter teas before the dog days of summer force the switch to gaoshancha, sheng puerh, and yerba mate.

How would you define the term rhythm when applied to teas? This is not the first time I read this particular term, used for describing tea's experiences, but never understood the meaning of it!

I think everyone's opinion on this could be different, based on own experiences,

for me it's just how Gushu reacts in my tongue, bitter/astringency that turns into sweetness finanlly transformed as huigan, a little echoing on my tongue the interval is quite clear and lasts..

First tea of the day, 2016 YouLe (in 70 ml early/mid 70s SP - Hongni); I am sipping it while having breakfast .. typical flowery aroma, light but well balanced flavors, always toward the sweet side, no bitterness or astringency at all. This tea pairs beautifully with this clay: everything good this tea has to offer, is highlighted.
